Westfield Park, situated on Westfield Lane next door to Goole Rugby Club in Hook, consists of two homes.
The Nursing Home is a purpose built care home, which opened in February 2013, with 54 large all ensuite single bedrooms, specialising in nursing and residential care. The ground floor bedrooms have doors to external patios to the front gardens or into the courtyards. Other facilities include an in-house pub, a full beauty salon and hairdressing room, an artificial outdoor bowls pitch, a rehabilitation gym, a sweet shop, a smoking lounge and an entertainments room including a cinema. There are 6 premier suites which all have their own kitchenettes and lounge areas, and have been specially designed for couples/siblings but can be used individually also. These create a very independent lifestyle and really are a home within a home.
The Haven is a 45 all ensuite bedroom care home, specialising in dementia care. All the bedrooms are on the ground floor, and they are split into two smaller units, with a large central area being used for activities. The Haven is the original nursing home which was adapted to be more 'dementia friendly' in September 2013 with themed wings/rooms, reminiscence rooms, sensory gardens (including an allotment and animals), a hairdressers, distractions stations and innovative dementia signage. The dining rooms have fake restaurant fronts and the central lounge has access out onto the artificial bowls pitch and pub.
Both homes also cater for respite and daycare. All the facilities are enjoyed by residents from both homes. To see these facilities please have a look at the pictures above.
Residents at Westfield Park are provided with a large variety of activities and are encouraged to join in as much as possible. However we will respect peoples wishes if they decide to decline from joining in. Our in-house activities are provided by a team of activity coordinators and include arts and crafts, dances, pub quizzes, gardening club and much more. We also organise trips out to not only the local shops and pubs but also further afield such as the beach at Bridlington, the aquarium at the Deep in Hull and Castle Howard in York.
We have a team of fully trained cooks and kitchen staff using the latest restaurant standard equipment providing healthy, tasty menus, with a choice at every meal. These menus are updated with the help of our residents requests. All laundry requirements are also done in-house by our housekeeping team.

Mum has Alzheimer's and has been a resident of Westfield Park since very shortly after it opened. She has been there for 8.5 years now and is a testament to the high quality of care that she receives there. In that time Mum has deteriorated as her disease progresses and the home has grown, now catering for many more residents. Yet I continue to feel that the caring and support staff alike know and understand mum and her needs. They provide the very best care and support to her and to me.
Jacqui (Resident's Daughter) on 26th February 2018
As a family we are very happy with the care our Mum receives. We have had lunch as a family at Westfield which Mum really enjoyed. The carers/staff team are really friendly and are only too ready to help, this is reflected in how our Mum communicates with the team. She is very happy!
Liz F (Resident's Daughter) on 20th February 2018
My Mum needed respite care last year for a period of three weeks. After researching care homes and visiting a number of them, we knew that she would settle at Westfield Park. We were right and she settles straight away. A few months later, her dementia worsened and we had no alternative but to move her back to Westfield Park, on a full time basis. She now treats it as her home and the staff are excellent. They care for her and keep her safe, which is so important. She is still very sociable and is constantly surrounded by a team of people who know and understand dementia.
Nick E (Resident's Son) on 22nd February 2018
My Mother is happy and healthy at Westfield, the care and attention she receives at Westfield is of high quality. All of our family are pleased to see that our Mother's needs are being met by the caring and pleasant staff who show love and compassion.
Helen (Resident's Daughter) on 24th November 2017
Staff work hard to maintain quality of life and dignity of residents while working to retain a calm environment in a difficult situation.
Adrian (Resident's Son) on 15th November 2017
Going into care is a difficult time for all family members, emotions are very confused and feelings of guilt and wanting to do the right thing can overshadow the need to do the right thing. From our initial contact with Westfield Park, the subsequent visits to meet the care team and taking our father for his first look around, we knew that we had found the right place for him to stay. Although he sometimes did not show it, he knew there was no better place. The care and respite that was given to him gave him dignity in his final months and for that we will always be very grateful to all members of staff, from nursing to cleaning, the care was exceptional. When our Father sadly passed away the concern for family members from all the staff was very comforting, professional and efficient. We shall always be thankful that Sue Baker and her team were there when we needed them.

As an Agency Nurse who goes to many care homes, I view Westfield Park as outstanding in all aspects.
Stacy (Agency Nurse) on 20th October 2017
My Mother who, like many others always said she didn't want to go into a home, could not have been made to feel any more welcome, wanted and loved by staff and residents alike. Westfield is a very happy place, I have never yet heard any of the staff complain. They are constantly working hard and striving to deliver the best quality care they can. My Mother's concept of a home was one where the residents sat in a circle with a loud TV and no conversation (she's seen these places) wearing someone else's clothes. I can't fault the care my Mum has received, but more than that, she is made to feel valued and appreciated. I/we couldn't be happier.
Jane (Resident's Daughter) on 19th October 2017
My Dad loves the place and is treated very well.
Carol (Resident's Daughter) on 11th October 2017
The standard of care is very high, the staff demonstrate this with their obvious caring attitude and dedication. It is much appreciated.
Hilary (Resident's Step Daughter) on 7th October 2017
My mother, aged 95, has just spent a year at Westfield Park during which time we experienced the best in care for both her and her family. The need to provide services that ensure “privacy and dignity” is an often quoted aspiration. But we saw it in practice again and again. Cheerful caring staff that always involved her in making decisions and always, when appropriate, keeping us informed. The well maintained facilities are excellent with good sized rooms. Her room was large enough for her to bring possessions that replicated a sense of her last flat in London. In addition she enjoyed the activities and a number of interesting ‘trips’ out – especially the visit to the seaside. For her family, most of whom lived some distance away, it was the confidence we all shared that Mother was living in a place where she was happy, safe and being well looked after.
LH (Resident's Daughter) on 10th April 2017
All I can say about my sister's care is that her life is comfortable, her needs are well met and I feel she is in the best possible place to be cared for. The staff are excellent in all ways.
Gill (Resident's Sister) on 5th March 2017
I feel my mother is in the best possible environment as regards her safety, welfare, health and general well-being which puts my mind at ease and reassuring me that I have made the right decision in placing mum here.
Ian (Resident's Son) on 12th January 2017.
Dad is so happy he's settled so well, enjoys all the beautiful meals. It's an amazing home. The care dad receives is outstanding. All the staff, nursing, cook, cleaning lady's, handyman, laundry staff always so cheerful and speak whatever time we go to visit. Westfield Park Nursing Home is like a five-star hotel. We're so lucky to have dad in such a beautiful nursing home where he receives excellent care 24/7.
Annette (Resident's daughter) on 26th January 2017
We have found the staff on the Dementia Unit to be exceptionally helpful and friendly during this upsetting period in my dads life. The staff have been at all times open and ready to answer our queries. The home itself is modern and well appointed. We feel content and reassured that our dad is safe and in good and experienced hands.
DP (Resident's Son) on 4th January 2017
This is a wonderful home. There is great care, all the staff are pleasant, friendly and very caring. It has been a pleasure to stay here and because I have not been "ill" I have enjoyed every minute. Two lovely girls provide entertainment which is suitable for lots of people and I have enjoyed being part of it.
Eileen (Resident) on 7th May 2016
Westfield Park is all about caring, with respect for the people they are trusted to look after. I can't speak highly enough about the staff, they took great care of my mum, she felt safe and loved. The place is in a lovely setting, spotlessly clean and the food (I am told) is great. The staff are exceptional. Some attended her funeral, others stood outside the home in the pouring rain as we passed by to say good bye to her. I will never forget that. I can’t thank the staff enough for the way they really cared and looked after my mum. Her last year was good for her. She was calm and happy.
Catherine K (Daughter of Resident) on 7th May 2016
My mother has lived at Westfield for 7 months. Since moving in she has been settled and happy. My mum enjoys having company and stimulation and this is in abundance at Westfield. My mum (who has dementia) has become more confident and happy since living here. Her general health and well-being has improved due to the good, regular meals and the wonderful, caring staff. All staff members have been exceptionally kind, helpful and caring towards my mum and to us as a family. Westfield is a wonderful, homely and friendly environment.
Helen S (Daughter of Resident), on 11th April 2016
I have had excellent care. The staff are, without exception, kind, hardworking, helpful and friendly. Westfield Park is well organised, with the highest degree of professionalism and competence. My room feels like home and I have enjoyed doing Tai Chi. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Eileen D (Resident) on 25th March 2016
Westfield Park is aptly named a CARE home. All the staff we have met have demonstrated a very caring nature which is evident in their relationship with our stepfather. Everyone from the managers down is communicative, approachable and a pleasure to deal with.
Hilary C (Step-Daughter of Resident) on 5th April 2016
From the moment my mother came to you, her health and outlook improved greatly. I will cherish the photo I downloaded from your email of your Christmas Party where she is dancing and playing to the camera - she looked so much like her old self. Since then I know her dementia has progressed, but I also know that she is in safe hands. Your home is a credit to all the staff and a visit is a happier time for us than in her previous care home.
Peter M (Son of Resident) on 28th March 2016
My husband has been looked after very well at Westfield Park Haven. The nursing care is very good. The nurses deserve a medal.
Shirley H (Wife of Resident) on 24th February 2016
There are some really pleasant staff looking after me. My laundry is done well. They attend to my needs when necessary. I enjoyed the trips out organised by the care home; the church services; quizzes; bingo etc. I really enjoyed the carol services when visiting singers came in. Excellent hairdresser who tends to my needs.
Muriel W (Resident), on 11th February 2016
Excellent care home where my mum is always happy when we come to visit. Carers are well trained in caring for dementia patients. Lots of activities which create a really good atmosphere. Lovely food. Well done Westfield Park Haven.
Marion R (daughter of resident) on 20th January 2016
A colleague and I visited The Haven on the 21st December to entertain the residents. we would like to say how very kind , considerate and caring, the staff were at The Haven. Clearly this is a very well run home, which was evident from the outset of our arriving. Both residents and staff clearly interacted well, which was a pleasure to have been a part of. I have no hesitation in recommending Westfield to friends and relatives if the need arises, and being a retired social worker I feel qualified to do so! Well done to the manager and the staff group, for a very well run care home and job well done!!
Patricia H (Social Worker) on 12th January 2016
Mum has been in the Haven Unit for 11 months now and we feel she is happy. We are very impressed with the staff, they all know her by name and know her likes and dislikes. We like the way staff interact with the residents and occupy them in simple but effective ways. The building is clean and well furnished with lots of lounge areas. We feel we can raise queries with the managers and they are dealt with in a quick and effective manner. Westfield has proven to have been a good choice for my mum.
Jill Hall (Daughter of Resident) on December 5th 2015
An absolutely brilliant home for my sister. The staff are very caring, kind and aware of all her needs. Family involvement is welcomed and communication excellent. Highly recommended.
Sally G (Sister of Resident) on 10th November 2015
I cannot thank you and your staff enough for the care and compassion with which you looked after my mother during her last stay with you. The way in which my mum was cared for made her last weeks as comfortable as they could have been and the way in which members of our family were treated made everything so much easier. I think we were fortunate in being able to have my mum in your care.
Geoff T (Husband of Resident) on 29th October 2015
My husband had been in Westfield for occasional days of respite, but when I had to make the decision for him to be residential it was the worst day of my life. I felt so guilty I could no longer care for him at home. We had never been apart so would he wonder why I had left him? Would he settle? However I needn’t have worried. He has settled in well and seems happy. He is kept clean and cared for. All the staff are very understanding and friendly to all of our family and nothing is too much trouble. With my husband being severely sighted, activities are limited however we have enjoyed three trips out and I take him out every day in his wheelchair (weather permitting) and it is nice to chat to other residents. I know the Parkinsons Dementia will deteriorate, but with the care and compassion my husband receives, I know it was the right decision for him.
Mrs W Garrett (Wife of Resident) on 2nd October 2015
I found my stay very pleasant. My room was beautiful and well equipped. The care afforded to me by the staff was excellent. The lounge is of a high standard and the range of entertainments covered a variety of tastes. I would happily recommend Westfield to friends and acquaintances.
Dorothy Thompson (Respite Resident) on 1st October 2015
I have enjoyed my 2 week respite stay at Westfield Park. I like my room and have enjoyed the wonderful company of two very nice ladies who live there. I can manage to do things for myself but the carers were very helpful. I enjoyed walking round the gardens in the sunshine. The food was very nice and they even helped me with my small 11am sherry!
Betty Bray (Respite Resident) on 15th September 2015
Westfield Park has everything you need and is lovely and spacious. The room I was in had lovely views over the fields and located in lovely countryside. I felt like I was on holiday. The home was very inviting and the dining room and lounges were such lovely rooms to sit in. The patio areas outside were a lovely place outside, to sit in the sun. The highlight of my stay was the food, it was delicious and staff took the time to go through the menu with me. I made a few friends who were teachers in their younger day which took me down memory lane. Now that I am back home looking after myself, it makes me realise how much I appreciated my time at Westfield and how nice it is to be cared for in a lovely environment. Everyone was so friendly and caring.
Marion Simpson (Respite Resident) on 4th August 2015
The carers' help me get up in the morning, they are very good. There are a range of activities in the lounge area for all residents to participate, I like to join in and chat with people, they are now like my family and I enjoy spending time with them and the staff. If you need anything then you only need to ask and the staff are more than willing to get it for you. The food is nice and we have a wide range of choice. I am made to feel respected and part of a family. I couldn’t ask for a better home to spend the rest of my life in.
Harold Barker (Resident) on 2nd June 2015
I have really enjoyed my stay here. Everyone seems very friendly and all enjoy themselves. Thank you.
Freda Westerman (Resident) on 27th April 2015
I am finding the home and the staff very good. They are all very helpful and the food is good. I am happy, it is like a home from home.
Harold Barker (Resident) on 2nd April 2015
I am very happy at Westfield Park, I find the staff very helpful and the quality of the food is great. I would be happy to remain here for the rest of my days.
